Everything you need to know about All Points East: Bring Me The Horizon

On Friday 31 May, Bring Me The Horizon will play their biggest show to date as part of All Points East’s sizzling 2019 line-up.

The Sheffield rockers released their fantastic sixth studio album Amo earlier this year, with tracks like ‘Heavy Metal’ humorously cashing in on the fact that their departure from their previous heavier style into something much more palatable has divided their fan base. The online trolls don’t seem to phase Oli Sykes and co., however, as they carry on going from strength to strength in their career. Fans are due to flock from all over the UK and beyond for this very special show at Victoria Park, that won’t just see Bring Me The Horizon at their very best but offers an exclusive supporting line-up that you would be a fool to miss out on.

The main stages are the East and North Stages where there is something for everyone throughout the day, though this particular event focuses on showcasing some of the best talent in heavier genres. While She Sleeps, Architects and Sleeping With Sirens are some of the big rock names on the bill but are joined by the likes of American hip-hop duo Run The Jewels and political punks IDLES. Former Crystal Castles frontwoman Alice Glass will also be performing, in what is her first time over in the UK solo.

Over on the Firestone Stage, you can catch the likes of up-and-coming Scottish pop-punkers Vukovi (a favourite of ours here at Highwire!) and U.S. based singer/songwriter tiLLie who is doing her run of UK festivals this summer. A smaller stage with only a handful of artists playing on it, this stage offers something different between the acts on the main stages.

The infamous JägerHaus is back again for 2019, providing you with not only top bands and DJ sets but also “plenty of delicious Jägermeister” — something that could come as a relief for those who have spent the last year in ‘spoons drinking Strika. Music will come mostly from some of the brightest stars in indie: Girli, Lady Bird, and Squid, to name a few, but noise-rockers HEALTH who have been taking the world by storm will also play a set. Also, make sure you catch the DIY DJs set if you want to boogie to some top tunes curated by those who know best!

You’ll find an array of bars and food stalls all across Victoria Park for All Points East Festival, allowing you to indulge in some of the UK’s best (and tastiest) fare. After all, what’s a festival without a few bevs and festival food to keep you going all day and all night!

If you’re looking for something different to do when you’ve got some time free, All Points East also offers a range of funfair rides, attractions, and games that operate on a pay-as-you-go basis. There’ll be plenty for those who want to just chill out too, as the festival prides itself on being suitable no matter how active, inactive, old or young you are.

All in all, it’s shaping up to be quite the show… see you in the pit 🤘

Bring Me The Horizon and support will play All Points East on Friday 31 May. Tickets can be purchased through the festival website here.
