We get to know “Midwest Rock n Roll” band Good Times & Company.
So, who are you?
We are Good Times & Company!
Where are you from?
Springfield, Illinois USA.
How long have you been together?
About 4 ½ years.
How long have you been playing music?
All of us have been playing for over 10 years.
Why should people listen to your band?
Because we play our own brand of rock music. It’s catchy, honest, and unique. You will enjoy the music and what’s more, you’ll never confuse us with any other band. We truly have our own sound!
What is your ideal touring line-up?
The Strokes, Mac Demarco, Queens of the Stone Age, Royal Blood, Cage The Elephant, and of course, Good Times & Company!
What does music mean to you?
It’s the one thing in life that will always catch you when you fall. You can always rely on music to be there to help you get through anything. It is a drug to all of us in the band. We wake up and breathe music. Its everything to us.
What was the first record you bought when you were younger?
Tell All Your Friends – Taking Back Sunday.
What artists first inspired you to start playing music?
Probably Taking Back Sunday and The Beatles. But there were several local bands I (Clint Kesinger- Vocals/Guitar) saw as a young teen that made me realize this is what I need to be doing. Twisted Sister, strangely enough, really got my attention as a child.
What’s the most aesthetically pleasing album cover that you have in your collection?
Well, if you’re referring to our album releases, the Midwest Sun cover is dope. We had a good buddy Patrick Hale put it together (hit him up he does amazing work!) and the whole thing turned out very nice and warm. Very much a summer vibe album cover. Other than that, Downtown Battle Mountain from Dance Gavin Dance has insane album art!
What kind of movie genre do you think your music would best be the soundtrack for?
Comedy/Action, and porn…
Recommend us a record, a book, and a movie…
New Leaves – Owen.
The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy, written by Douglas Adams.
Tommy Boy, starring the legendary late Chris Farley.
