Review: Victors – Slow Down (Single)

Born and bred in Leeds, electronic pop four-piece Victors are a fairly recent addition to the music scene. The band formed only three years ago and after the success of previous EP releases Holding On and Turn Out The Lights, the quartet are back – ready to take over our eardrums once again.

They recently released a new track called ‘Slow Down’ on their Soundcloud account, which brings a whole new era for the group. Holding on to their electronic sound, there is no doubt that this could be the song of the summer.

The release gives off some super cool, spunky, The 1975-esque vibes, which we are really living for! Granted, the song is a little slow to start off with but as it reaches the chorus, the sound that follows is sure to stick with listeners for months to come. The summery, chilled-out feel of this song makes us want to lounge outside in the scorching sunshine whilst sipping on a cocktail or two! It sounds very similar to their previous work, but that isn’t necessarily a bad thing.

The lyrics of ‘Slow Down’ are definitely generic yet extremely relatable to anyone who may be listening, telling you to slow down and enjoy the moment you are in.

The band have teased the track’s release (which is set to be on June 1) with several promo videos on their social media accounts. Guaranteed, Victors are onto a winner with this pop-y, feel-good track.
